Description
NOTE: This hike is weather-dependent! This is attempt number two – we got rained out last week. Please ensure to check back the night before the hike, to see if any cancellations or alterations have been made!
A great opportunity to view 3 of the incredible waterfalls within Wells Gray Park!
We will meet at the Paul Lake Rd Meet-Up Spot at 8:30am, and drive caravan-style to Clearwater, enter the park, and head first to Helmcken Falls to hike the Rim Trail there. This is an 8 km roundtrip out-n-back, easy trail, which gives us a unique viewpoint from across the river, where we will find a spot and have our lunch. I have been told by locals there that you can actually feel the ground rumbling under your feet there, from the force of the falls.
We will then drive back to the Moul Falls Trail and view these unique falls. Approx 6 km, easy trail.
Next will be Spahats Falls – .4km, and from there we will make our way home, or gravitate to the nearest ice cream outlet.
Always recommend bringing bug spray, etc. See Ten Essentials!
A hearty thank you to Ian and Liz Cornish for volunteering to Co-Lead this event and allow more members to come on out! Proper Social Distancing will be maintained!
