Description

Join Carole and John as we hike Trophy 1 Mountain.
Email johnmoslin@hotmail for registration.
This route requires some scrambling and some exposure to long drop offs.
We will carpool near the Husky Station on the Paul Lake Road.
This will be a hike for strong hikers only,
expect to be on the trail for over 10 hours, bring your headlight.
It’ll be about 15 hours Kamloops return.
The group is expected to hike together as a group following the route chosen by the leaders.
We will hike steadily through the meadows,
Drop down past Sheila Lake and continue past the plateau of tarns,
We will access the ridge to long hill, scramble up to Trophy 2 for a rest break
Then scramble down the narrow ridge and up to Trophy 1, this route has precarious drops
on both sides and is for capable scramblers only, after admiring the view and a snack
We will return on the same route, back to Trophy 2, Long Hill, down to the plateau of tarns.
then a mere 2 hours back to the vehicles.
This is a long hike, bring your hiking essentials, head lamp, camera, plenty of food and lots of water.
The hike leader reserves the right to review all participants’ abilities.
In 2015, I was on 2 hikes with different groups to the summit of Trophy 1, one event taking 9,1/2 hours, the other taking 12 hours.
