Description

Skmana snowshoe trails have had record snow amounts this year (4’+). Now that the cold weather is over, Carole and I will be leading a snowshoe hike through the trails at Skmana Lake. Skmana Ski and Snowshoe have been out flagging, placing new signage on their trails this past weekend, even with this I managed to find 2 km of fresh snow on the northern trail. Kamloops participants will meet at Valleyview Arena at 9:30am Sunday morning to arrange carpooling, meeting John and Carole at the Petro Can in Chase. We will drive to the trailhead (20 minutes) to begin our snowshoe, we will be on the trail 2 – 2,1/2 hours stopping for a short snack along the way. Dress for the conditions, bring a snack, your essentials. The sun was shining today, temperature was above zero but there is lots of snow and the opportunity to make some of your own tracks is there. Participants are welcome to stop for coffee, tea, snacks, or lunch at Craig’s Bakery after the snowshoe.
