Weather conditions permitting we will be hiking on the Skmana Lake snowshoe trails Sunday, Dec 08.
We have snowshoed these trails in the past, this fall I have hiked them a few times discovering a new snowshoe trail chain sawed through the bush connecting the trails making a new loop. The trail is moderate with a small amount of elevation gain covering 5.5 km-7 km, it will be a shorter hike, we should be on the trail for about 2 hours. The group will meet at Valleyview arena at 9:30 to arrange carpooling meeting Carole and John at the Chase Petro Can, from here we will continue to the trailhead 20 minutes from Chase. Dress for the conditions, hiking poles can be helpful. An option, after the hike people can stop for coffee, tea, and/or lunch at Craig’s Bakery in Chase (something to discuss when arranging carpooling)
If condition deteriorate, I will notify participants of any changes.
