Description

A hike up the Dewdrop Trail, along the Rim, and down a canyon for a loop route

  • we will drop off a vehicle for a shuttle loop route
  • carpool at Brock shop to organize rides and shuttles
  • hike for 3.5 hours (est.)
  • tick season so take precautions; this is also a rattlesnake area
  • a dry route so bring water
  • dress for the conditions
  • a long steep uphill to the rim
  • the elevation gain from the trailhead to the highest point on the rim is 710m (2330 feet)
  • the downhill is along a rough, off-trail track
  • a scenic, but demanding route
  • we will move along steadily with few breaks, except for lunch
