Family members, dogs, new members, etc.  are welcome, but all waivers/AR forms must be done to protect the Club and the volunteers who are organizing the event

• Family members – as per the Minor’s policy listed on the Minor’s Page
• Members are solely responsible for supervision and organizing the minor guest they are bringing.
• Members book 2 places and comment to the event.
• Member’s dogs are welcome (one dog per member) and a leash must be carried and/or used.   We will follow club policy as noted on the Our Furry Friends Page.
• Dog owners must comment to the event listing so that members know how many dogs are coming.
• This will not be an event for any dog that can’t be controlled easily since we may see wildlife, cattle, may have younger children, etc.
• At the top are drop-offs so children and pets should stay well-back from the edge.   Owners and parents are asked to manage this at the top.
• We don’t want this to be chaotic so we ask all participants to  help to make this work.

• Watch the listing and its comments for updates (esp. if the weather is marginal)

Carpooling

• Meet at Valleyview Arena (click the Meetup Locations Page to see a map) at 9:30 to organize carpooling.
• Dog owners will be bringing their own vehicles.
• We will drive to the Mt. Buse trailhead (details can be found on the Mt. Buse page)
• Riders should expect to pay $5 for the ride (or drive themselves instead).
• The trailhead crosses private property but we have permission to park and hike, so we should park and proceed respectfully (thanks to Buse Creek Ranch).

Mt. Buse

• a shorter hike (3.5 km) with a climb to the top of the ridge and fine views

• a side trail leads over to the Buse Pinnacle
• a loop route veers east to go past ponds and meadows
• early lunch at the top
• ticks will be out
• dress for the weather
• we will try to organize groups for faster or slower hikes, dogs, kids, etc. but this will all be done at the trailhead, depending on who registers for the event
• the concept is a staggered start – regular hikers go first, dog owners go second, family members and slower hikers go last, each group with only a short wait
• This will be a team effort and leaders can only offer “open” events like this if everyone pitches in to help.
