Description

This will be a 6 day backpack trip into Mt Assiniboine from Sunshine Village via Citadel Pass.

Route: Sunshine Village to Procupine Campground 12.5kms – Procupine Campground to Lake Magog campground 15.5kms – Day hike to Nub Peak via Sunburst & Cerulean Lakes 11kms round trip – Day hike to Wonder Pass lookout 7+kms round trip – Hike out from Lake Magog campground to Procupine 15.5kms – Last day Porcupine campground to Sunshine Village 12.5kms.

My hiking style is to allow plenty of time to smell the flowers, photograph, and enjoy the vistas.  This hike is not a heads down and storm through.

It is essential that you have all necessary backcountry hiking gear.

Just a quick update for all our members We have been experiencing some recent issues with the Kamloops hiking club website, the website team and board are very aware of the frustration that everyone is experiencing. We are also having some issues with posting, signing up and cancelling for individual events. A good website helps enable leaders and hikers to coordinate events. Greetings all and welcome to a new club year! Board Updates Board Meeting was held on February 19, 2024.  The minutes are posted on the website under Club Info/Meeting Minutes page. 2024/2025 Membership Registration is currently underway.  Membership Renewals started February 1st and new membership started on March 1st.
