A hike up Mara Ridge and down through Mara Canyon

• We will be hiking from the gravel pit trailhead at 10:00 (go past the golf course for 1 km and turn right on Ord Road)
• I will wait at the turn at 9:45 for those unsure of the final driving route

• hike up the ridge, then down the canyon this year with a bit of exploration along the way
• ticks will be out so take the usual precautions
• a rugged route with some loose footing; poles and good boots are recommend (not a moderate route)
• a scenic route and we will do some photography along the way
• no waiting lists, so watch for cancellations if it is full
• this is a popular hike that will fill fast so hopefully another volunteer hike leader will offer another opportunity for a group hike in Mara Canyon, or alternately we can have two groups starting at the same time and one going counter-clockwise and the other clockwise, meeting at the middle for lunch – Chris has offered to help out so we will open more spaces for the possibility of 2 groups
