Description
Join on a hike on the lower southwest hills around Mara Mountain.
We will meet at the Mara Canyon trailhead. Drive west past the Kamloops Golf Club, take your first right on the short section of Ord Rd, cross the tracks and turn left (past a house or 2 and a bunch of scrap,vehicles, etc) to the parking area.
We will be hiking off trail for most of the route, ticks are out, there will be some scrambling involved, we will stop at a viewpoint for a short lunch break. We should be on the trail for 2.5 – 3 hours.
Bring your essentials, hiking poles, camera, lunch, dress for the conditions.
The weather looks good at this time, if it rains too much the hike may change to a different location.

I have been hiking in the Kamloops area for a number of years enjoying the alpine in the summer months. Joined the KHC in 2011 and have been leading hikes and snowshoe events ranging from moderate to difficult for over two years. Look forward to sharing the trail with others in the club.
