Description
A hike along the Homesteaders Hike route, then the upper grasslands
- meet at the Batchelor Hills meetup spot to carpool
- park at Lac du Bois
- Hike along the north shore of Lac du Bois then up forested slopes past several century-old homestead sites, looping back through the grasslands past Stony Lake along old tracks in the upper grasslands to the parking spot
- hikers may want to wear gaiters to avoid getting needle-and-thread grass and other seeds getting into socks
- stop for lunch along the route, usually at a viewpoint
- some historical and natural history information provided along the route for those who are interested
