Description
Leaders: Maureen Thorkelson and Lisa Boutry.
Please join Lisa and I on a nice easy Sunday hike to Battle Bluff.
This will be about 5-6km in total over about 2.5 hours. This is a local Kamloops favorite with great views of Kamloops Lake. We will stop at the top of the Bluff for a nice snack/lunch break to sit, chat, and enjoy the view for a while. This time out please expect to do a bit of wandering off the usual path.
There is a moderate climb to the bluff with some parts that can get a bit slippery so hiking shoes and even a pole or two are recommended. We will be going slow on the hills with plenty of stops for pictures, water and breath breaks.
I expect most of the snow will be gone by Sunday as there are plenty of dry sections up there already, but do please come prepared and expect a little bit of everything. Poles and micro spikes would be a good idea this time of year.
Please be at the airport dog park on Aviation Way by 10:30am. We will head out together from there which is only a 15 minute drive to the trailhead on Frederick Rd. Carpooling from the meet-up spot based on your own discretion.
This is a dog-friendly hike for up to 3 dogs. There are deer up in the area so a leash is recommended. I will have my dog Kacie. Please add a comment if you will be bringing a dog. Thanks. Hope to see you then!
