Hike Leader Bios, Avatar, Widget, and Status
A few years ago, the Board of Directors decided that having authors’ bios would be a good thing for the Club, since it provided information on the kinds of hikes and goals for any event.  Hike leaders at that time were asked to complete their bios, upload an avatar/image, and update their profile.  Many did, but not all.  Reminders were added in newsletters and posts.
At this time, the author’s bio and avatar is appearing in a stylized widget at the bottom of any event they post (automatically).  For any hike leader who has not completed their bio, we have inserted a simple sentence and we have uploaded an avatar for them.  This keeps all events looking the same on the website.  We encourage all hike leaders to complete their own bios.

To display more than one Bio for event (ie two leaders)
- Copy and paste shortcode at the bottom of your event listing.
- Doug can provide this for you. For example, “starbox id=”289,443” in []Â will insert Lori’s (289) and Di’s (443) bios, one after the other. You can just copy and paste it into the next event you organize. If you don’t care if both names are displayed, then ignore the insertion of code.
- When you use shortcode, every bit must be right to get it to work.
