We have created a Google Group for leaders, co-leaders, and members to chat about hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, paddling, etc. This is set up as a Chat location and members of the group can join and receive emails or members of the group can simply follow the link and participate without receiving emails. Its just a way to discuss opportunities.

The results of the chats could result in an event posted to the website, inviting members to participate or it could be informal networking to go out in small groups. Since waivers are in place for all members, insurance and waiver protection may still be active as long as everyone is a member and the basic guidelines and expectations are observed. If non-members join in, those kinds of protections may not be in place so keep the groups small and manage your risks carefully.

At this point we have only invited active hike leaders, co-leaders, and a few active members, but other KHC members can request to be added.
