We have started to use Event Tags to assist members and hike leaders in places where there are listings of many events.   Tags are just key words or phrases associated with an event.   Rather than add a whole lot words to your title (which often causes problems) or a whole lot of explanation in your event listing, tags can often convey information quickly.

For example you could add the word “rough” for routes that are off-trail.   You could add the word “Shuswap” to indicate a hike in that area.   You could add “Requires Leader Registration” to any event you want to filter registration.

The tags will appear in the widget on the front page below your event, or on the upcoming events page.   Tags are also searchable on the internet or in our search bar on the website.

To add a tag, edit your event, go over to the right side and find the Add Tags widget and add whichever ones you want.   Very simple, but also very helpful.
