We used to ask hike leaders to select an image from the media library or upload a new image for each event to fill in the space provided for each event listing.   There were some problems, though:

• some leaders were uploading the same image over and over again which leaves many copies in the library
• some leaders did not have access to appropriate images
• some of the images were the wrong size or shape

A change was made by the webmaster to make this simpler:

• When you pick a location from the drop-down menu, the website will automatically insert an image associated with that location to the Upcoming Events page
• this would also solve our problems noted above for the front page widget, but that change is not in place yet to allow some transition time
• If you don’t pick a location, the line in the front-page widget will be omitted and no image will be inserted (so pick a location to fix that) to the Upcoming Events page.
• If there is no location that fits for your event, contact us and we can add one.
• Any featured image you choose for your event will show on your individual event page.
