Unpredictable Hiking Conditions

Conditions are tricky for hiking and snowshoeing right now. The valley bottom will have mostly good hiking, except right after a rain. The lower hills may be okay, but a trail that is sloped and/or has sand content will dry out faster and have less mud. Anywhere where snow is melting or recently melted will be muddy. The Isobel Lake Trail is now finished and we recently hiked on the snow around the Isobel Lake Trail.   The low-mobility trail is ready for wheelchairs and persons with disabilities.   The hiking trail is in good shape and there are new mountain bike/snowshoe trails linked to the lake loop.   Many organizations helped with the project, including the Kamloops Hiking Club and the Federation of Mountain Clubs.   There are two docks that go out into the lake, one for … Continue reading →
