• Kamloops Naturalist Club has a Nature Park concept drawing/proposal and City Council will be making  decision about it (and other choices) this fall.   KHC supports the idea of having a nature park on the island.
• The Meetups Post is again on the right side of the website.   To post a Meet-up, you must be logged in, then you can comment to make a meetup suggestion or to respond to someone else’s comment.   We have tried this before and it wasn’t well-used, but we have restarted it on request.   A more robust system can be installed, but before doing that work, we would want to see some interest from our members.
• The Banff Mountain Festival World Tour is in Kamloops Nov. 20 and 21.   Go to True Outdoors for more information.
• KHC is now awarding a draw prize to one hike leader each month.   After the month is over, any leader who has led one event that month is eligible for the draw prize.   The winner of the $50 gift certificate from Atmosphere (for August) is Katherine Roberts.
• KHC’s newsletter will be moving to a 2 week schedule (it has been weekly) so the next newsletter will be October 1, 2018.
