• We are pleased to announce that Michelle Dressler, Paul Battjes, and Clive Giolma will receive honorary/complementary Memberships for the upcoming year in recognition of their contributions to Kamloops Hiking Club.
• There is a new slideshow on the website on the website (right side) called Fall of 2018.
• KHC’s Facebook Page (link) is now integrated to feed to this website (on the right side).   This is not a feed from a Facebook Group like Kamloops Hiking Club (Members Only) since FB doesn’t allow feeds from groups to be used on a public website.   We can however, feeds posts done by KHC on its public Facebook Page.   We can share photos, videos, announcements, etc. from the Group to the page, but we can’t feed the website from shares that originate from Groups.     Its all a bit technical, but we can leave that to the Facebook Group and Facebook Page administrator and the webmaster and KHC members can just enjoy the Facebook Feed on our website.
• Our thanks to Katherine Roberts for organizing and hosting another successful Fall Potluck Social.
• Our thanks to Sam Chow for sending us GPS tracks for a number of snowshoe routes.   They have been added to the website for members’ use.
• The winner of the October draw prize for hike leaders was Sheila Powell.   Anyone who leads a hike in a month gets their name put into the draw.   Previous winners were Katherine Roberts and Paulette Gendron.   The next draw will be at the end of November.
• We are pleased to add 2 new Board members to our Board for 2019-2020, pending the outcome of elections at the AGM in March.   We now have nominees to take on the Treasurer position, the Vice President position, and the position of New Members Director, in addition to Directors who will stay on for the next year.   We had a very positive Board meeting this last week and  a summary is now on the website.
• The Guests Policy has another revision this month.   A summary is now provided in a short news article (on the right side).   The Guests page has already been revised.
• Minutes of the recent Board of Directors meeting are now visible at this link – November 14 KHC Board of Directors Meeting.
• An added feature to the website available to logged-in members only are many pages of trail information. These include some driving directions, some notes, a map, a GPS map, a track download, and images that can be used for event listings or for members who are interested in seeing some trail photos. Much of the information is not visible to the public. We make this choice so that the information is a benefit of being a member. Each page takes time to develop, so a few will be added each week. The next 10 are provided below as links.
