- The Isobel Lake Low Mobility Grand Opening is on Friday, June 1st at 11:00 am. Location is the day use area at Isobel Lake adjacent to the campground. After a few short speeches and acknowledgements the ribbon cutting will occur on the trail nearby.  For those that wish to do so there will be an escorted hike around the Low Mobility Trail of 3.1 km.  Refreshments will be provided.
- KHC trip photos from backpacks, camps, and dayhikes continue to be posted on Facebook on one of 3 sites:
- Kamloops Hiking Club (Members Only)
- The larger group Kamloops Hiking
- On the Kamloops Hiking Club page
- Wildflower sightings and identification information can be found on another Facebook Group page – Kamloops Wildflower Project.
- Some sharing of kayaking experiences and opportunities can also be found on the Facebook Group Kamloops Kayak.
- Events and trip photos for Kamloops Outdoor Club can be found on their Facebook Group site too – Kamloops Outdoor Club.
- Our website has a security program that prevents users (members) from using risky passwords (too easy/patterned/known to be stolen).  The site will lock you out if you use a risky password.  You can click the Lost Password link on the login screen or contact the webmaster using the Contact Us form if you have this problem.  The security/firewall is there to prevent hackers from logging in and adding malicious code to the website.
- There are no universal trail difficulty standards for all of the trails, tracks, and routes we use, so hike leaders do their best to provide some information, but we leave it up to each member to contact the hike leader if they are unsure whether the event is right for them or not.   Active and positive communication by telephone, email, website comments, or in person is the best way to resolve possible misunderstandings.
Hiking in Hot Weather
Kamloops hiking Club continues to organize events right through the summer and we will have days where the temperatures climb to make hiking more difficult.  When the forecast is for hot weather and the route is a difficult one, we may want to revise our plans.  The combination of heat + a difficult, long route + exposure (no shade) could be an issue for hikers so hike leaders have to make adjustments to ensure that everyone is safe.  Hydration is doubly important so each participant has to ensure they are adequately prepared with fluids and protection from the sun.
- Here are some Hot Weather Hiking Tips.
