KHC Newsletter – February 10, 2019
KHChirps
- Membership Renewals are underway.  At this point we have about 110 members for 2019.  Renewals will continue for the rest of the month then we will be opening a link to the page for new memberships.
- Unrenewed member’s website accounts will be frozen on March 1st and any bookings made will be deleted (as per Club policy).  As we accept new memberships new accounts will be set up and the new members can start making their bookings into posted events.
- Not many new events are being posted at this time but that is because of the weather and marginal hiking or snowshoeing conditions.  Some of our diehards are still out there most days, but most members are waiting for improved weather conditions.
- We have added an explanation on the website concerning Paypal.   When the world-wide internet network collaboratively updated its security standards for e-commerce, developers upgraded their web browsers to meet these new standards.  As a result, if you try to complete Paypal with an older browser that has not been updated, it may not work.  Updating your web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc.) is a good idea anyway, but an even better idea if you are doing any online transactions, including Paypal purchases.
- We have had some other “ups” and “downs” with integrating Paypal into our website, but it appears the tweaks we have done have fixed any problems now.
- Welcome to new hike leader Sasha Lees.
- Our AGM and Potluck Social is planned for March 24th.  See the Event posting on the website for more information.
