KHC Newsletter – April 22, 2019
KHChronicles
- New events can be posted at any time so the best way to keep up with opportunities is to check the website each day.  Some posted events are currently available for registration and some are Drafts, that is, proposed events with potential dates and locations, but not yet enabled for registration.
- We encourage all new members to take the time to review the content on the website’s various pages.  All of the information on how everything works (dogs, kids, guests, meetup spots, website accounts, contacting hike leaders, managing bookings, guidelines and expectations, the Ten Essentials, status of events, successful booking practices, carpooling, and more).  Our volunteer leaders are already doing a lot and if the answers to questions/club queries can be answered by reading site information, that saves extra time and for our key members.  Help Files and Help videos are also available to members at all times.  Your efforts to do this are appreciated.
- Congratulations to Lisa Boutry, our newest hike leader.
- The individual status of volunteer hike leaders changes from month to month for a variety of reasons.  Even though we have about 25 hike leaders, the actual number of active hike leaders is about half of that in any given month.  The number of active hike leaders reflects the capacity of the club to host events for its members.
- We are still actively recruiting new hike leaders. Our current need is for more leaders to organize moderate events on weekends.
- If your email address, contact information, password, etc. changes, we ask members to make their own changes to their accounts by editing their profiles.  Information on how to do this is found on the Website Help page.
- We had a long battle (7 weeks) with Paypal, but it is resolved now, thanks to the efforts of Dianne Smith.  We will not be doing business with Paypal in the future because of their business practices.
- A big thank you to Frith Powell who worked on member registration for 8 weeks.  We are now done with this for rest of the year, except for a few Guest registrations.
- If new members have any questions they can contact us at info@kamloopshikingclub.net.
