A digest of hiking news for KHC members.
- There is a new page on the website called Trail Reports (Event Info > Trail Reports) or follow this link.  Updates to be added regularly.  Only visible to logged-in members.
- The best place to find a summary of information on access and conditions in Wells Gray Park is on the Facebook Wells Gray Park Information Center page.
- Specific trail conditions can be found at the BC Parks Wells Gray site, but it hasn’t been updated since last July.
- A summary of the status of the Pineview Trails can be found on this site.  Maps of the trails can be found on Trailforks or on AllTrails.
- Information on trails in the area to the east of Kamloops (esp. Chase to Sicamous) can be found on the Shuswap Trails website.
- BC Parks Campgrounds can be booked 2 months in advance.  Go to Discover Camping BC to get started.
- There is still lots of snow in the alpine areas so hiking to higher areas will not be available until July (mid-July in some areas).
- Sun Peaks is only selling lift passes online so purchase them at home before heading up to hike Tod Mountain.
- Manning Park Resort produces a Trail Report on a regular basis for Manning Park – link
- Joffre Lakes is currently closed (link).
- Information on Bear Spray from Parks Canada.
- Good information on Bug Spray from the Government of Canada.
- A good article on Cleaning and Waterproofing Boots from MEC.
- Here is FMCBC’s summer issue of Clouburst
