Hiking in the Heat!
It’s hot this week! Be safe and pick the right hikes for you.
- bring lots of hydration and keep your electrolytes up
- hike during cooler times like morning and evening
- choose shadier hikes, take breaks as needed, and slow your pace.
- wear sun protection – sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc. Â
- know the signs of heatstroke – heavy sweating; cold, pale, and clammy skin; fast, weak pulse; nausea or vomiting; muscle cramps; tiredness or weakness; dizziness; headache.
Rattlesnake Safety: for rattlesnake safety visit the Wildlife BC Safety website.
Stay safe and have fun!
