Description
A hike in the Coquihalla Summit area
- it is forecast to have little or no smoke in the Coq Summit area on Monday
- If we get a smoky surprise, the backup plan is to hike to Ottomite Meadows, then add Falls Lake
- There is a good trail to Ottomite Meadows, a single track through the meadows, then a steep route to the top of Zupjok
- Lunch on top with some minor exploration, then return the way we came
- Article on Zupjok Peak (please read before signing up)
- a seldom-hiked trail and route, but a scenic one
- Meet at the Zopkios Rest Stop (east side) at 9:00 am (1 hour 40 minutes each way, all highway)
- although I am not organizing carpooling, members can organize their own (I will send an email out in advance to help out)
- with driving, this event will take all day
- all hikes this summer will be on short notice since we can only predict smoke coverage for 1 to 2 days in advance
