Description
This is a fabulous view hike at the top of the Coquihalla highway, the trail starting at the Zopkios rest stop. The whole ridge hike takes you to Llama and Alpaca peaks but I am not intending to go that far.  Those summits are some 20 km and 1424 m elevation.  My plan is to hike to the ridge (a few kms of travelling up through the forest to start) and hike along, up and downs, the ridge as far as our time and energy allows.  The climb will still be at least 700-800m.
The ridge is wide open with spectacular views over the Coquihalla peaks, so the hike is totally weather dependant so final decision will be the evening before. Cannot be up there in bad weather!
We will meet at Hillside meet up at 0700 to do the drive to trailhead, about 1 1/2 hrs.  If you choose to carpool be aware your contribution to gas costs will be at least $25 depending on how many in the car.  Any car can drive this one as it is all highway driving.
