Description
This is a base camp in Yoho National Park based out of Kicking Horse campground.  There are showers and washroom blocks and spacious campsites.   We will stay for 4 nights, September 16, 17, 18, 19th and drive home on the 20th. We will hike 3 days and may do a short one on the 20th before coming home. There could be delays on the highway both ways for driving up the Kicking Horse Pass so be prepared for anything from 20 minutes to a few hours waiting.
As the dates proposed are after September 12th, there is no reservations necessary. It will be first come first served and I do not anticipate any problem getting campsites as it is after the busy period.  I expect an early start from Kamloops as it could be a long drive if we are stopped at construction, but there is no hike planned for this day.  Just arrival and set up. Some of us are coming from the Rogers Pass camp so will have a shorter drive that day.
Hikes planned are Paget Peak and ridge via Paget lookout; Stanley Glacier; Yoho Lake/Burgess Highline; other hikes in the area which we may do include Iceline circuit; Sherbrook Lake to Niles Meadows.  All are full day hikes and some are very strenuous; the scenery is stunning and we should be treated to some fall colors and larch trees changing color. It will be getting cool at night but the days will be bug free and warm enough for hiking.
