Description

  • This is a 5 day 6 night camp and hike trip in Kananaskis Country
  • You must be prepared for frontcountry camping
  • Leave Kamloops Sunday, July 22nd for a 7 hr 15 min drive to Elkwood Campground in Kananaskis
  • 5 days of hiking
  • Leave for home Monday, July 22nd
  • These hikes will be at a easy going to moderate pace.  Lots of time to take photos and enjoy the day.

Hikes:
Burstall Pass and Beyond  

Length: 22 km

Estimated Duration: 6-7 hours

Elevation Gain: 600 m

Difficulty: Moderate to harder

 

Tombstone Lakes via Elbow Sheep Valley

Length: 22 km return

Estimated Duration: 5 – 7 hours

Elevation Gain: 300m (984ft)

Difficulty: Moderate

 

Galatea Creek to Lillian Lake to Galatea Lakes

Lenth:  20.4 km

Estimated duration:  All day

Elevation gain:  678 m

Difficulty:  Harder

 

Ptarmigan Cirque

Length:  5 km

Estimated Duration:  3 hrs

Elevation gain:  230 m

Difficulty:  Moderate

 

Upper Kananaskis Lake to Fossil Falls

Length:  26 km

Estimated duration:  All day

Elevation gain:  1000 m

Difficulty:  Easy to moderate around the lake.  Challenging steep scrambling up to Fossil Falls
