Description
Friday’s weather forecast is for 30 degrees so it is time for an inspired water hike. We will be wading in the creek and going North through a twisting slot canyon where the water may be waist-deep. Making our way back to where we dropped our packs we will enter the south canyon where you may have the opportunity to swim.
I’m bringing old running shoes to wear in the creek bed. Poles are necessary as the creek rocks may be slippery. A small inner-tube or a flotation device may be useful.
After floating around, we power up a short incline and a brief walk brings us to a fossil bed. Bring a light hammer and chisel.
Here we will have an extended lunchtime where the fossil hunters can work and those who want to swim up to the waterfalls or if you want to just enjoy the sunshine there will be time to do whatever makes you happy.
