Description
This hike starts at the Lundbom Lakes rec site just beyond Merritt up off the Connector and is a series of lakes, hills, and grasslands.  The proposed hike is new to the leader so have patience – route finding.  It will be a mixture of double track, single track and off trail.  Will probably encounter mud, and cows. I have added 4 more spots Doug Smith knows the proposed route so will come along and lead the groups. We keep relatively close together but will keep social distancing at all times.
It is a beautiful area of rolling hills, lakes and mixed forest.  The loop will take us up over Sugarloaf hill, and around to some mtn bike trails and back to the cars.  Lunch at a viewpoint on the way.  As this is an exploratory outing the distance could vary from 5-15 km depending on which route we choose.  All fairly gentle terrain but lots of ups and downs.  Am happy for you to bring your furry friends, but they will have to be leashed at all times as there could be cows loose in this area.
We will meet at the Aberdeen mall meet up and convoy from there.  Anyone who wishes to carpool can do so at this point – the drive is about an hour and a half to trailhead, via Merritt. Remember to bring mask and hand sanitizer if you wish to carpool.  We will be following KHC social distancing policy; and only having 6 people on this event to enable us to social distance at all times on the hike.
