A KHC Snowshoe just for new members and for renewing members just starting to snowshoe

• Carole and John would like to welcome new members and newbies to snowshoeing with the club
• We will be snowshoeing in the Lac le Jeune area
• This trail doesn’t have too many steep sections, so is a good starter but also allows us to snowshoe as far as we want to go before returning
• We will begin by meeting at the Aberdeen Mall meet up spot, we usually arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the posted time (this gives us time to arrange car pooling) and leave at or prior to the posted time
• We will stop for a lunch, cup of tea or coffee midway through the event
• Unknowing of participants level of snowshoeing ability, we will play it by ear and schedule the event time to how our members are feeling
• arrive early if you are not familiar with your equipment (and practice putting on snowshoes at home)
• we will do introductions at the trailhead and head off on the trails for about 2 hours
• we will have at least 2 experienced snowshoers to help along the way
• we will stop for tea/light lunch along the way; bring a pad to sit on
• dress for the conditions
• the outing will be low-key and social in nature
• we can expand the group size by adding more hike leaders and breaking into groups so if the event fills, add a comment (we don’t keep waiting lists though)
• if you have to cancel, login to the website, go to the Menu Bar near the top and click Your Bookings; click he cancel button by the cut-off time (9:00 am) and this is what you will do for all future events
