Description
A KHC Snowshoe just for new members and for renewing members just starting to snowshoe
- for this first venture we will meet at the Stake Lake parking lot
- there is a trail fee per person ($5) at Stake Lake which you will pay at the booth
- Stake Lake snowshoeing info – link
- we will meet at the warming hut at 10:00 and will be on our way by about 10:10
- no carpooling organized for this event but participants can organize something for themselves through the comments
- arrive early if you are not familiar with your equipment (and practice putting on snowshoes at home)
- we will do introductions at the trailhead and head off on the trails for about 2 hours
- we will have at least 2 experienced snowshoers to help along the way
- we will stop for tea/light lunch along the way; bring a pad to sit on
- dress for the conditions
- when we get back, participants are welcome to go into the warming hut to socialize and warm up and even go back out again after the rest of the group leaves
- the outing will be low-key and social in nature
- we can expand the group size by adding more hike leaders and breaking into groups so if the event fills, add a comment (we don’t keep waiting lists though)
- if you have to cancel, login to the website, go to the Menu Bar near the top and click Your Bookings; click he cancel button by the cut-off time (9:00 am) and this is what you will do for all future events
- contact us if you have questions
- we will enable this for registration just before the New Year
- more information to be added closer to the actual date
- watch for updates, posted as comments
- check the listing the day before in case there are weather or winter conditions concerns
- welcome to our new members!
