Description
The date was moved to avoid a rainy day…
A drive onto the Bonaparte Plateau, then a hike to the top of Skoatl Point
- an annual event to this remote spot
- meet early at Westsyde Shopping Center parking lot to convoy or registrants can choose to carpool (I will provide email addresses to the group)
- drive to the trailhead (Kamloops > Jamieson Creek FSR for 25.5 km to the Windy Lake Road > Skoatl Road > on backroads)
- hike to the base of the hill on moderate trails, then scramble up the steep rock to the summit
- the scramble will look like a climb, but its really just a series of ledges for careful scrambling up and down; nevertheless, its not for everyone
- lunch on top
- a scenic hike, best done in late summer or fall
