Description
A First Day of Spring hike from the end of the lake area (Kamloops Lake) near Savona then along a single track to near Sabiston Creek and back
- a longer hike on what is usually the first trail to dry out in early spring, but we may find some mud too
- hike at a steady pace for 5 km then we will have lunch on the beach
- article on the trail – Savona to Sabiston Creek Trail (please read if the trail is new to you)
- the trail is rolling with some hills, but not difficult meet at(though it is long for anyone who has not hiked in the winter)
- meet at Aberdeen Mall (new spot – in the southwest corner of the parking area under the highway) to organize carpooling
- bring an extra pair of shoes in case your boots get muddy if you are carpooling)
- Riders pay the driver $5 for gas/wear and tear (or drive yourself)
- hike for about 3 hours on a scenic route
- watch the listing for updates (esp. weather or trail conditions issues)
- ticks will be out so take the usual precautions
- I expect this hike to fill (no guests this time) and I will not be adding more spaces so watch for cancellations; if you are cancelling do so early so someone else can take your place\
