Description
For anyone who wants a last quick getaway to the woods before Christmas, here it is! Santa has hit the trails this Christmas and left stockings for hikers who have been exceptionally good this year!
A moderate hike closeby in Kenna Cartwright Park, 4 to 5 km, along the Sage Trail to Panorama Lookout (..some wonderful views!) including side trail excursions for exploring. Snack stop and Hiker-Stockings Hunt(!) at the Lookout. We will go at a leisurely pace, and enjoy the scenery and some socializing. Dress for weather, it can be windy up there. Bring traction devices, in case of slippery sections.
We will meet at the Sage Trailhead parking lot which is located behind the recycling bins area at the end of McGill Road, next to the Yard-Waste Depot. Please email me if you are not familiar with it.
I will be wearing a red and white elf hat, just cuz. Nutty-ness is heartily encouraged!! Tis the season…….

My hiking style is a relaxed one - to best take in all the beauty around us.Hunting new wildflowers and fungi will often cause me to be looking everywhere except the trail.
I like to think up unusual/themed hikes (nature is fun), including Art Hikes, Historical Hikes, Wacky Race Events, Santa Stocking Hunts, Halloween Hikes, Photography Hikes, Astronomy/Full Moon Night Hikes, Fossil Hikes, etc.I also seek out interesting things to see and share in nature - gorgeous waterfalls and views, crazy geological formations, scenic forests, and other very special places.
I'm always open to hearing new hike ideas from other hikers.
