This is an area just west of Afton Mines off Hwy 1 at Abbey Road.   A mix of double tracks, single tracks and some off trail with some great views over Kamloops lake, the Dewdrop area and beyond.  The area is a mix of grazing leases so is best explored off season when there are no cattle in there.

We will do a loop around Saltwort Pond on a mix of trails, and maybe an off trail section to finish the loop.  We will stop for a break at a viewpoint overlooking Kamloops Lake.   At this time of year there could be some mud, frost patches, or even dusting of snow.

We will meet at the Hillside meet up spot at 1000 to car convoy out to trailhead, some 10 minutes away.  Doggies welcome, but on leash.

I have been retired for several years now and enjoy many activities in the outdoors such as hiking, cycling, skiing, backpacking. I have lived in Canada for the last 35 years and spent a great deal of time exploring the Rockies, K-country, Kootenays and parts of BC.

I get out on a hike, ski or cycle ride several times a week either with the club or family and enjoy running multi day trips as well as day outings.I will lead fairly strenuous, moderate to steady paced outings as well as some starter outings.
