We will spend 4 nights base camped in Rogers Pass.  The only campground open is Loop Brook, and the reservation window has now been extended to September 20th so we will need to reserve 4 nights at Loop Brook, starting Sunday September 12th   Reservations open on April 6th at 0800.  As of March 2nd I was informed that the Illecillewaet campground is scheduled to open at some point this year; there are downed trees that have to be cleared and until that is done there will be no opening date.   Once it opens it will only be first come first serve camping so we will keep an eye on it through the summer as that campground is a better location for most of the hikes.

Hikes proposed are Avalanche Crest, Abbott Ridge, and Balu Pass, all full day harder hikes. Distances and elevation gains will be added to this posting at a later date.  There are also a couple of shorter easier choices if we are tired or the weather is inclement.   There are several other hikes from the same trailhead and destinations could change at the last minute due to bear activity, trail closures etc.   This is a very rugged area with a lot of bear activity, and all hikes have a lot of elevation gain although mileage is short, and all are spectacular scenery.
