Description

This is one of my favourite loops in the Dewdrop Range.   We start at the usual parking area and climb up the Ragged Red Ridge to a fabulous viewpoint and then come down the regular trail.  We climb a rough trail from sagebrush to volcanic rock, and then back through open fir forest on the trail.   The route up is very steep with an average grade of 29% over 1.7 km.   We will have lunch at the viewpoint and it could be cooler up there so bring an extra layer.

Meet up at the airport dog park at 0930 to car pool to start of.hike.

This is a very steep route, with some loose rocky sections.  The circuit is only 7 km but it takes some energy.  There are some very interesting bluffs on the way.  Poles and good boots essential.

This event will be enabled a week or so out once we have a weather forecast.   We will meet at the airport dog park at 0930 to carpool out to trailhead.
