A more difficult hike up the Ragged Red Ridge Route (R4) onto the Red Plateau Escarpment, and return down the Dewdrop trail.

A side trip to the Garden of the Trolls on the way down is possible.

The hike up is steep, with lots of loose footing and a bit of minor scrambling. Coming down is on a good trail, but is quite steep in places, and may be slippery. Good boots are a must, poles are recommended.

Lunch on top of the ridge.

Meet up at 1000 at the Dewdrop trailhead, the second pullout on the right along the Frederick road.
