Description
A 12.3 kilometre loop around Western Pineview Trails with stops at 3 scenic lookouts. Elevation gain is approx 247m. Pace moderate with stops for photo-taking. See photo for trail route.
Proper social distancing will be observed. Participants are expected to carry The Ten Essentials and to be at an appropriate fitness level.
Meetup is at 8:20am (try to arrive 10mins early) at the Hillside Drive (Aberdeen Mall Overflow Parking Lot) Meetup spot (see meetup locations under Event Info on the website.) Please be sure of meetup location before Sunday morning, to be on time. Once assembled, we will drive caravan-style to the trailhead off Lac Le Jeune Rd.
Bring water, snack, bug spray, sunscreen, extra layers, etc. See “guidelines and expectations” under KHC Info on the website if you are unsure what to bring.
My hiking style is a relaxed one – to best take in all the beauty around us.Hunting new wildflowers and fungi will often cause me to be looking everywhere except the trail.
I like to think up unusual/themed hikes (nature is fun), including Art Hikes, Historical Hikes, Wacky Race Events, Santa Stocking Hunts, Halloween Hikes, Photography Hikes, Astronomy/Full Moon Night Hikes, Fossil Hikes, etc.I also seek out interesting things to see and share in nature – gorgeous waterfalls and views, crazy geological formations, scenic forests, and other very special places.
I’m always open to hearing new hike ideas from other hikers.
