Description
A hike on forested trails, a combination of double tracks and single tracks in a remote area
- meet-up at the trailhead at 10:00
- trailhead – Take the Coquihalla Highway and drive for 6 km. Turn onto the Inks Lake interchange and follow the exit road to a T-intersection. Park there.
- hike on forested tracks for 8 – 9 km (we will chose a route back based on conditions)
- a stop for lunch along the way
- moderate routes
- stay with the group (for safety)
- dress for the conditions and if it may be snowy or icy, bring traction devices, and or gaiters
- since I am now a slower hiker, getting ahead may mean getting separated from the group, so slow down or wait at intersections; I know the area and it is unlikely anyone else in the group knows the trails nor the options I will choose out there
- article on much of the route – Spade Lake Loop
- if the weather forecast is favorable, the event will be enabled for registration about 6 days out; if not it may be rescheduled
- With the new Covid guidelines the group size will only be 6. If a second leader wants to follow us, he or she can post a duplicate event.
- if conditions worsen, I will advise the group of any potential changes
- more info to be added
