Description
Join me for a fall exploratory hike at Opax hill above Lac du Bois. I have explored parts of this area, but would like to extend this to include the ridge along the bluffs overlooking the lake.  The route involves some double track and route finding (off trail sections) – we may be crossing through rough and steep terrain in some places, and potentially thick grass/vegetation.
We will park at Lac du Bois, then head west along the lake towards Hanging Valley. Then we’ll take the double track which switch-backs up the hill. Near the top we will route-find along the ridge, make a stop for lunch with a view over the lake, and eventually make our way down towards the old Dumont homestead area, then through the grasslands back to the vehicles.
This hike will be weather dependent. Please check this page for updates before the hike.
Wear sturdy boots; Â poles are recommended, along with the ten essentials.
For anyone wanting to carpool, please wear a mask. We will be practicing physical distancing during the hike of course.
