A hike from Deep Lake to the top of the Batchelor Range and back

• meet at Westsyde Shopping Center to carpool
• hike route – Deep Lake Trail > Community Grasslands Trail > off-trail climb onto the north end of the Batchelor Range > along the top of the ridge > lunch > off-trail return on steep slopes

• ticks will still be out and we may see some cactus on open slopes
• some longer uphill sections and one longer downhill so poles are recommended  to protect the knees
• An etiquette reminder – Conversations on the trail should be kept at a muted conversational level/volume so that other members of the group do not have to hear the dialogue.   A number of our members also like to listen for the sounds of nature while out hiking on the trails.
