Description

Peterson Creek and Rose Hill areas are in my back yard so to speak.  I frequent them often and am always amazed at the variety of trails I can take, of course I have some favorites.  I am going to offer 1 hike each week for 3 weeks and then I will be heading out of town for a bit.  I have given us roughly 2 hours of hiking time but it might end up somewhere between 2 and 3 hours (6 – 10 km) depending on how much fun we are having.  There are lots of ups and downs in this area so be prepared to do some work.  The trails are in fairly good condition, there is a bit of mud and a few snow patches but they won’t be around for too much longer.  I recommend good hikers, a set of poles, your 10 essentials.  Check the weather and dress appropriately. The first hike will start from the main trail head of Peterson Creek accessed off Columbia Street & 5th Avenue.  We will stop and enjoy the view/scenery and have a quick snack and beverage break.  Tick season is here so be aware and dress appropriately, always check yourself and your gear after hiking.
