Description

Calling all newbies to backpacking!  This back pack will be reserved for first time backpackers.  If you are wanting to get out there and try backpacking, then this is the hike for you.  This will be a three part backpack.  Attendance at the Backpack Seminar posted for May 1, 2022, is highly recommended as Part 1.  Part 2 will be a local hike with a fully loaded pack prior to the trip.  Last but not least, Part 3, the backpack.

This will be a 2 night, 3 day backpack trip into Majerus Falls in Wells Gray Park.  We will hike approximately 7km into the primitive Murtle River Camp from the Pyramid Mt. trailhead.  Here we will set up camp, enjoy a fire (fire restrictions permitting) and spend our first night.  In the morning we will have a relaxed morning and enjoy breakfast. We will then hike on to Majerus Falls.  We will eat our lunches there and enjoy the view of the falls.  After returning to camp we will spend our 2nd night.  Sunday, hike out and drive home.

*This is a remote location with no facilities.  There is no outhouse or bearproof storage.

**Leader registration is required.  Contact Nicole at nicolehikes@gmail.com for more information.
