Join Carole and John as we explore areas on lower to mid Mara Mountain on the south west side of the mountain. I was in the area today and encountered some muddy areas in the parking lot and on the trail. We will mostly be off trail route finding along the way, there will be some scrambles on the way up and also on the way back down. Our pace will be slow to moderate, allowing time to enjoy the scenery and take some photos, Today I was lucky to see a number of mountain sheep (but no guarantees). We will meet at the Aviation Way dog park to car pool, bring spare shoes (and clothes in case you slip in the mud) to the trailhead. I was lucky today and only needed to change my hiking boots upon reaching my vehicle at the end of the hike. Dress for the conditions, bring your hiking essentials, hiking poles, lunch, and your camera. We will take a break at our high point of the route allowing plenty of time to explore and take some photos. No dogs on this event.
