Description
Up the canyon to the top and back down a narrow path on the ridge
- the whole route is as much scrambling as it is hiking
- for the sure-footed and fit only
- good boots and poles recommended
- hikers are expected to stay with the group
- some steep sections up and down
- tick season and the possibility of snakes (unlikely)
- cactus may be a problem for dogs
- lunch at the top
- a scenic and interesting route
- Participants must be well-prepared, as noted in KHC Guidelines and Expectations; leaders retain the right to refuse registration from anyone who is not in compliance with the listed expectations (please review)
- Note – there is a train tracks crossing at the start; if we are unlucky, we may have to wait going up or coming down; all due caution is required with this crossing
- thanks to Vivian for co-leading this hike
