Description

One of the trails/hikes in the Lundbom Grasslands Commonage (south of Merritt)

  • meet at the former Tourist Info Center just off the junction of Highway 5 (Coquihalla) and Highway 5C (Okanagan Connector) at 9:30 to convoy to the trailhead
  • drive to the trailhead area – 9 km on the highway and then 5km on a gravel road (some potholes)
  • hike for 3 hours on moderate trails’ lunch along the way

  • There are many trail junctions and it is easy to get off the planned route so sign up for this hike only if you will stay with the leader (who will stop to take photos and enjoy the natural beauty of the area (and may be limping)).
  • mosquito season
  • if it is hot, plan for adequate hydration
  • although this is the planned date, if the weather is unfavorable, it will be rescheduled

Just a quick update for all our members We have been experiencing some recent issues with the Kamloops hiking club website, the website team and board are very aware of the frustration that everyone is experiencing. We are also having some issues with posting, signing up and cancelling for individual events. A good website helps enable leaders and hikers to coordinate events. Greetings all and welcome to a new club year! Board Updates Board Meeting was held on February 19, 2024.  The minutes are posted on the website under Club Info/Meeting Minutes page. 2024/2025 Membership Registration is currently underway.  Membership Renewals started February 1st and new membership started on March 1st.
