Description

A snowshoe on trails in the high country (4000 ft+)

  • meet at Lodgepole Lake at 10:00
  • Driving directions – Lac le Jeune Road south to just before Stake Lake, then turn right onto the Chuwhels Mountain Road (a good road that is kept plowed), and follow to the end of the road at the Lodgepole Lake Rec Site (use  Google Maps if you need more directions)
  • participants may choose to carpool (organize your own) or convoy
  • snowshoe for 2.0 hours +/-
  • lunch stop along the way (in the bush)
  • article on a snowshoeing route in the area – Lodgepole Hill
  • the route will be a moderate one, winding through forest and along the edges of ponds and lakes, with the goal of enjoying a day of outdoor activity in winter
  • a low-key event (as are all the Rambles)
