Description
A late winter hike with the snows melting and lots of mud on the trails. We will find a reasonable route, probably in the Valley bottom, but we will make the decision where it will be fairly late once we see how fast the thaw occurs. We want to be either below or above the mud zone. Upper areas will still have some snow, but the warm temperatures will just cause snowballs underfoot.
I will scout it out to see where we can hike with dry feet.
Bring traction devices, just in case and be prepared for wet conditions.
I hiked the Mara – Tranquille Hills on Saturday and conditions were good. A scenic route. With about 4 cm of more snow predicted, we will head into the hills for 2 hours for this hike. Meet at the Ord Road meetup spot at 10:00 and we will carpool to the trailhead. If this route doesn’t meet your needs, please cancel.
