Description
Come join Carole and John for a repeat snowshoe to Larch Hills to explore the least visited trail known as Mom’s trail. Often bypassed, this trail promises you some phenomenal scenery, often in a state of fog which just adds to it’s mysterious scenery and unique beauty. You will not be disappointed!
We will snowshoe the trail up to the HUB- a nice shelter for lunch- up the Interpretative to Mom’s trail and ending on the Moose trail for a moderate 4 hours of snowshoeing.
This snowshoe is classified as moderate as there are some steep sections, obstacles such as fallen logs and hidden branches under the snow. This event is for physically fit individuals and you must have your ten essentials with you.
Dress for winter conditions.
Be prepared to stay for the duration of this event, it is estimated to take 4 hours on the trail, keep in mind that this is an approximate time as time will be determined by the pace of the group.
Carpooling to be arranged at the Valley view arena meet up spot. Start time is at 0900, please be at least 5 to 10 minutes early so that carpooling can be arranged. The group will leave at 09:00 promptly. Please discuss carpooling fees with your driver.
The Kamloops participants are to meet the hike leaders at the Chase Petro Canada around 0930 and we will caravan to the trailhead from there. We should be on the trail by 10:30.
Last but not least, bring your smile and camera!! See you there!
